Fall 2009 - Greg Motta

On September 24th 2009 at the Andover Country Club, the first ever Nicholas Perretti Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Merrimack College Senior Captain Greg Motta.

Greg is a Sports Medicine major from Saunderstown, RI and was voted onto the 2009 Northeast-10 All Championship team, the 2009 Northeast-10 All Conference 2nd Team and the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team.

As described on Merrimack.edu:

In 75 career games, Motta manned the midfield and scored 13 goals and five assists in the meantime. This season, Motta scored a pair of goals (both of which were game-winners) and tallied four assists.

"There really is no midfielder like him in the league," said head coach Tony Martone of his senior captain. "He controls the tempo of the game and has such an impact on offense and defense that is hard to match."
